Myanmar laid landmines across a section of its border with Bangladesh to prevent the return of Rohingya Muslims fleeing the violence following army crackdown. The current crisis was triggered by an attack on August 25 by Rohingya insurgents on Myanmar security forces, which has led to the killing of over thousand people and the exodus of nearly 3,00,000 Rohingyas to neighbouring Bangladesh.
