Saudi unveils ‘Ramadan Lights’ to illuminate the spirit of the season

Saudi’s national tourism brand, ‘Saudi, Welcome to Arabia,’ has unveiled “Ramadan Lights,” the next phase of its global campaign, “This Land is Calling.”

As the sun sets, Saudi transforms into a land of warmth, tradition, and celebration, inviting visitors to experience the magic of Ramadan in Riyadh, Jeddah, AlUla, and the Saudi Red Sea.

Ramadan is a time for family and reflection, and Saudi comes alive in the evenings with vibrant markets, festive stalls, and extended shopping hours. Visitors can lose themselves in the historic districts of Jeddah’s Al Balad, the ancient beauty of Diriyah, or the awe-inspiring mosques that dot the landscape.

The souks, filled with unique finds, offer a glimpse into the country’s rich culture, while special Ramadan events bring the spirit of the season to life.

In Jeddah, the energy is electric. Ramadan delicacies cater to every taste, and the Ramadan tents pulse with activity, surprises, and cultural events. The Al Falah Square Bazaar is a must-visit, blending tradition with contemporary experiences. In AlUla, serenity takes center stage.

The tranquil surroundings and Ramadan’s peaceful ambiance create the perfect setting for reflection and relaxation. Bukhoor Road tempts visitors with its aromas, offering a sensory journey through the country’s coffee and incense culture, while Al-Manishiyah Square hosts events that capture the essence of the season.

The Saudi Red Sea offers a different kind of escape—sporting and leisure activities unfold against a backdrop of crystalline waters, from beach horse riding and paddleboarding to kitesurfing and stargazing.

For those drawn to history, the heritage-soaked landscape of AlUla, the ancient rock-carved tombs, and the maze-like alleys of Historic Jeddah provide a deeper connection to the past.

Riyadh, the beating heart of Saudi, offers a Ramadan experience that blends tradition with modernity. Iftar and suhoor gatherings bring families and visitors together, while Souk Al Zal, a market rich with incense, textiles, and artifacts, embodies the country’s cultural soul.

The Ghabga, a Ramadan event featuring entertainment and traditional experiences, rounds out the festive atmosphere.

Currently, there are 59 direct flights per week from Bangladesh to various cities in Saudi Arabia. These flights are operated by Biman Bangladesh Airlines, Saudia, and US-Bangla Airlines from Dhaka, Chattogram, and Sylhet.

Saudi Arabia has also made its visa process much easier for visitors. Bangladeshis can now travel to different destinations in Saudi Arabia with an Umrah visa. Additionally, Bangladeshi travelers who hold a valid U.S., U.K., or Schengen tourist or business visa—and have entered any of these regions at least once—are eligible for an e-visa or visa on arrival at Saudi airports.

Bangladeshi travelers can also obtain a 96-hour stopover visa when visiting Saudi Arabia. Currently, there are three "Tasheer" visa centers in Bangladesh—two in Dhaka and one in Chattogram.

Indian travelers with valid tourist or business visas from the US, UK, or Schengen countries can obtain an eVisa or visa on arrival. A Stopover visa, valid for up to 96 hours, allows further exploration, and VFS Tasheer offices across Indian cities make the process smoother.

Saudi is more than a destination; it is an experience. From the coastal charm of Jeddah to the heritage-rich landscapes of AlUla and the modern pulse of Riyadh, every journey here promises something unforgettable.
