Saudi Arabia bans children from accompanying Hajj pilgrims

Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has banned children from accompanying pilgrims during the 2025 Hajj season.

This decision aims to safeguard children’s safety and well-being, preventing any risks they might face during the pilgrimage associated with the intense crowding that occurs every year.

“This measure is taken to ensure the safety and well-being of children and to avoid exposing them to any harm during the pilgrimage,” the ministry said, reports Gulf News.

Besides, the ministry emphasized that, as in previous years priority for Hajj participation will be given to those performing the pilgrimage for the first time.

Registration for the 2025 Hajj season is now open for Saudi citizens and residents through the Nusuk app and the official online portal.

Pilgrims must verify their information, add companions, and submit exemption requests, including those concerning accompanying mahrams, said the ministry.

The ministry urged pilgrims to prepare for Hajj package sales on Nusuk app. Pilgrims must select packages, top up e-wallets, and finalize bookings.

Bookings remain unconfirmed until full payment is made. Invoices are issued for each installment.
