Iran has reiterated its firm position of taking harsh revenge for the killing of Quds Force chief General Qassem Soleimani, who was assassinated by the United States in a drone attack near Baghdad airport on Friday.
In a strongly-worded statement, issued by the Iranian embassy in Dhaka on Sunday said the killing of General Soleimani has violated all the international laws and rules and that the killers will receive severe response.
Tehran said that Soleimani was killed by Washington as he destroyed the IS that was arguably created by Washington itself in the first place.

“This wicked action (Soleimani killing) violated all the international rules and laws as well as the regional peace and stability, and it was aimed at escalating tensions and war-mongering,” said the statement containing verses from the holy Quran.
It said: "The unwise and heartless perpetrators of this horrible crime should know that they will receive a teeth-shattering response."
Iranian national flags at the Embassies of the Islamic Republic of Iran around the world including the one in Dhaka have been flown at half-mast “to salute the exalted soul of a great and an exemplary soldier of Iran, the martyred General Soleimani who was an untiring combatant fighting the current surge of extremism and terrorism,” said the statement.
It has described Soleimani as “a credit and dignity not just for the people of Iran but for all the Muslims and all the oppressed and destitute in the entire world.”
The killing of Gen Soleimani will make resistance heavier and will make the tension-raising policies of the US even more ineffective than before, it said.
