Bangladeshi woman murdered by compatriot in Greece

A 36-year-old Bangladeshi woman was stabbed to death in a broad daylight attack allegedly by her compatriot boyfriend on August 28 in Athens, the capital of Greece, reports themanews.com.

The perpetrator, who is in his 40s and is unidentified by the Greek news portal, claimed that he had “financial differences” with the victim’s partner.

He stabbed the woman indiscriminately in the middle at 10 Tenedou Street in Kypseli district around 3pm on that day, injuring her critically.

She instantly collapsed on the ground and was whisked off to the Red Cross Hospital in the area, where she died a few hours later.

Claiming that the woman had an extramarital affair with him, the accused said her husband was long unemployed and she owed him 20,000 euros.

“When she asked me to break up, I told her to pay back my money. She refused to do so, my mind got blurred and I killed her,” the man reportedly told the media.

A preliminary investigation into the murder is being carried out by the Attica Security Sub-Directorate.
