Singapore issues advisory for travellers as Covid cases surge

Singapore has issued a fresh advisory for travellers as the nation’s Covid-19 infections are rising.

Some 56,043 cases were reported in the week of December 3 to 9, a 75% increase over the 32,035 infections in the previous week, said the Ministry of Health (MOH) of Singapore on December 15.

This marks the third consecutive week of rising Covid-19 infections, reports The Straits Times,  Singaporean daily.

In the travel advisory, the Ministry of Health recommends that travellers take preventive measures, including wearing masks at airports, securing travel insurance to cover potential medical expenses abroad, and steering clear of crowded areas with inadequate ventilation.

Meanwhile, doctors have urged people to get both the influenza vaccine and Covid-19 booster shots, especially if they are medically vulnerable or have underlying medical conditions.
