Kobbi Shoshani, the Israeli Consul General in Mumbai, has expressed strong support for the Hindu community in Bangladesh.
"What is happening there is unacceptable," he said, underlining the need for urgent action to address the alleged attacks on the Hindu community in Bangladesh, reports Deccan Herald, an Indian media outlet.
Drawing parallels with the historical experiences of Jews living peacefully in India, Kobbi highlighted a shared understanding of suffering.
“We understand what it is for daughters and children to be murdered and butchered by criminals,” he added, referencing the recent tragedies that have deeply affected both communities.
Speaking at the plenary session at the World Hindu Economic Forum (WHEF), Kobbi expressed gratitude to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Indian government for their steadfast support of both Israel and the Hindu community in Bangladesh.
