The teen is identified as Nabra from Sterling, Virgina, who went missing after leaving the mosque with a group of friends, reports News4. Mosque officials said Nabra and her friends were walking on Dranesville Road towards the All Dulles Area Muslim Society (ADAMS) Centre around 3am on Sunday. The girls had just finished their breakfast at a nearby town centre before beginning their fast at sunrise. Fairfax County Officer Tawny Wright said some of Nabra's friends reported her missing to the police. They told the police they were walking together in the area when the girl got into a dispute with a man who drove by in a car. The man got out of his car with a baseball bat and started assaulting the girls. All of the teens except for Nabra fled the scene, Wright added. According to a report on BuzzFeed News, the police said they have "not gotten any indication that this was motivated by hate or bias." After being reported about the incident the police started searching for the girl around 4am Sunday and later found the body.UPDATE: Suspect in Herndon missing teen investigation taken to jail.
