As panic of novel coronavirus infection is gripping the world day by day, the global death toll from the Covid-19 pandemic crossed 276,253 as of Saturday morning.
Since it was first reported in China in late December last year, the novel coronavirus has infected more than 4,009,291 people around the world, according to worldometer.
Of them, over 2,302,365 are currently being treated and more than 48,699 among them are in serious or critical condition.
So far, 1,387,275 people have recovered from Covid-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus.
The World Health Organization (WHO) had declared the novel coronavirus crisis a pandemic on March 11.
Until May 8, Bangladesh confirmed 206 deaths and 13,134 coronavirus cases, according to the country’s health authorities.
Meanwhile, until Saturday morning, the United States confirmed nearly 78,615 deaths — highest in a country around the world — and more than 1,321,785 cases; while Spain reported over 26,299 deaths and nearly 260,117 cases.
Italy, the worst-hit European country, has so far recorded 30,201 deaths and over 217,185 cases.
France, on the other hand, has reported 26,230 deaths and 176,079 cases until Saturday morning.
In the United Kingdom, authorities have reported 31,241 deaths among 211,364 confirmed cases.
According to worldometer, Covid-19 is currently affecting 212 countries and territories around the world and two international conveyances.
