Bangladesh crashed to a 1-2 defeat to Bahrain in Group-4 of the Davis Cup Asia/Oceania Zone in the UAE yesterday.
In the first match, Bangladesh’s Anwar Hossain fell to Yusuf Kwad 2-6, 1-6 but Amol Roy triumphed 6-4 6-2 over Abdul Karim Abdulnabi in the second rubber. The encounter was decided by the doubles contest, in which Amol and Biplob Ram were defeated 6-7 4-6 to Abdul Nabi and Abdulnabi.
The loss was Bangladesh’s third in four matches.
