Bangladesh face Turkmenistan in Davis Cup qualifiers today

Bangladesh tennis team were pitted against Turkmenistan, Singapore, Iraq and Bahrain in pool A of the 2013 Davis Cup Asia/Oceania Zone Group-IV during the draw which was held in Dubai yesterday.

The tournament is scheduled to get underway in the United Arab Emirates, Dubai today. Bangladesh will take on Turkmenistan on the opening day. Bangladesh earlier faced the same opponents six times and beat them every occasion. 

Meanwhile, Jordan, Kirghizstan, Myanmar, Qatar and Saudi Arab were placed in pool B. A four-member Bangladesh team consisting of Sree Amol Roy, Md Anwar Hossain, Jamil Bhuiyan and Biplob Ram are representing Bangladesh. The games will be played in a round robin league system.

The top two finishers from the two groups will qualify for the Davis Cup Asia/Oceania Zone Group-lll which will be held next year.
