Mehedi Hasan Alvi and Sadia Afrin of Bangladesh reached the semi-finals of the Division 2 singles at the ITF Asian U-14 Development Championship after winning their respective quarter-final in Thailand Thursday.
Alvi defeated Aarav Huda of Nepal 7-5, 7-6 in the boys’ singles quarter-finals, while Sadia beat Sonam Chuki Dorji of Bhutan 4-2, 4-1 in the girls’ singles.

Alvi and Zubaid Utsho pair also won their games in the boys’ doubles, while Mashfia Afrin-Luxmi Saha and Sadia-Suborna Khatun posted victories in the girls’ doubles.
Utsho and Mohammad Roman Hossain had seen the exit door from the boys’ singles after losing their respective quarter-finals.
Mashfia and Suborna also lost their last-eight girls’ singles encounters Thursday.
