Bangladesh will take part in the ITF Asian under-14 development championships 2019, a division two tennis tournament that begins from January 8 and ends on January 19 in Thailand. Teams from Nepal, Pakistan, Singapore, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Bhutan, Cambodia, Laos, Macao, Maldives, Mongolia, Myanmar and Bhutan will also take part in the tournament.
Each country will have three boys and three girls taking part in the tournament. Bangladesh Tennis Federation’s chief coach Md Mozahidul Haque will lead the three Bangladeshi boys – Mohammad Ruman Hossain, Mahadi Hasan Alvi, and Jubaid Utsho – and three Bangladeshi girls – Masfia Afrin, Sadia Afrin and Shuborna Khatun.
Depending on the success of the teams in the tournament, they can progress from division two to division one.
