Bangladesh beat Kyrgyzstan, Iraq in Davis Cup

Bangladesh scripted a brilliant comeback in the 2018 Davis Cup Asia/Oceania Zone Group 4 defeating Kyrgyzstan and Iraq Thursday and Wednesday respectively after conceding losses in their opening two matches against Oman and the UAE in Muscat. Bangladesh beat Kyrgyzstan 2-1 with Amal Roy and the doubles team comprising Amal and Ranjan Ram romping to victories in their respective categories. Dipu Lal suffered a defeat in the singles event. With two wins and as many losses, Bangladesh are now third in Group A. Host Oman top the standing with four victories in as many matches while the UAE are second with the same number of wins.

Bangladesh will face Myanmar in their last match. Zone 4 contains two groups - Pool A and B. Pool A includes the UAE, Iraq, Oman, Myanmar, Bangladesh and Kyrgyzstan while Singapore, Turkmenistan, Mongolia, Bahrain, Guam and Tajikistan make up Pool B. The top two teams from each group will advance to the final round.
