Bangladesh Open chess team registered a draw while the women’s team tasted their second consecutive defeat after the end of round 8 in the 41st World Chess Olympiad at Tromso, Norway on Sunday.
The Open chess team drew 2-2 with Philippines as Grandmaster Enamul Hossain bagged the only win beating GM Eugenio Torre. GM Abdullah al Rakib and GM Niaz Murshed drew against GM Gomez Jhon Paul and GM Gonzales Jayson respectively while GM Ziaur Rahman suffered the only defeat to GM Sadorra Julio Catalino of Philippines.
