Bangladesh Grandmaster Ziaur Rahman suffered his second consecutive defeat in the Open Section of the Asian Continental Chess Championship as he lost to Indian GM Krishnan Sasikiran in the 8th round at UAE on Thursday.
Zia played with black pieces against the Catalan Opening of Sasikiran and lost in the 48th move. Zia now has only four points after the end of 8th round.
Meanwhile, in the women’s section, WFM Nazrana Khan Eva beat Njoud S of Saudi Arabia in the 8th round. Eva earned 3.5 points from eight games.
