Bangladesh’s archery team returned home to a rapturous reception on Sunday after clinching the gold medal in the compound men’s team event at the Asia Cup Archery Tournament (Stage-1) in Bangkok, Thailand.
The team defeated Vietnam 231-225 to secure the top podium finish, marking a historic achievement for the country in international archery.
On arrival at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, the champions were greeted with flowers and applause by officials, supporters, and sports dignitaries. Youth and Sports Secretary Md. Mahbub-ul-Alam, representing the State Minister for Youth and Sports, extended congratulations to the players, coaches, and officials.
World Archery Asia President Kazi Rajib Uddin Ahmed Chapal and Bangladesh Archery Federation President Professor Dr. Md. Mokhles Ur Rahman were also present at the reception.
Speaking on the occasion, the Youth and Sports Secretary called the victory a “glorious achievement” and expressed confidence that Bangladesh’s archers would continue to excel internationally, bringing further pride to the nation.
