Bangladesh's karatekas Adam Choudhury and Syed Nuruzzaman won gold medals in the 11th Commonwealth Karate Championship that concluded Sunday.
The event took place in Durban, South Africa.
Adam won gold in the -52kg division of Cadet Kumite and a bronze in Cadet Kata.
"Congratulations to Adam Choudhury! His remarkable achievement brings immense pride to the nation. He became the first Commonwealth Karate Champion in Bangladesh," wrote Bangladesh Karate Federation on social media.
Nuruzzaman, who was the South Asian Games’ gold medalist, bagged gold in the veteran category after Adam's feat.
