Young archery ace Sagor Islam lost to experienced Italian Mauro Nespoli in the men’s individual 1/32 elimination round to see the exit door from the 2024 Paris Olympics Wednesday.
Out of total nine arrows, Sagor managed to outmark the three-time Olympic medalist Nespoli once.
In the third attempt of the second set, he scored 10 against Nespoli’s 9 but could not carry the momentum.
Sagor drew twice in the first and third set and lost the remaining seven arrows.
Nespoli began the game brightly with 10 out of 10 in all three arrows of the first set against Sagor’s 8, 9 and 10 respectively.
