Bangladesh boxer Mohammad Selim Hossain reached the quarter-finals of the men’s 51-57kg boxing event of the 19th Asian Games after knocking out Asror Vokhidov of Tajikistan in the Round of 16 at Hangzhou Gymnasium in China Saturday.
After lagging behind in the first round of the bout, Selim came back more attacking in the second round and hit the opponent hard to make the eye injured as referee stopped the contest and declared Selim winner.
Selim earlier beat Sri Lankan boxer Rukmal Prasanna in the Round of 32 tie last Tuesday.
The quarter-finals of the respective event will be held at the same venue this Tuesday.
