In the two races of the opening round, Avik finished fourth and eighth to garner 60 points. In the first race, Avik started from eighth on the grid, got a good start and made up a couple of places in the first lap. He was running strong and consistent at sixth position till an incident that brought the safety car on the track. During the safety car period, two of the cars in front of Avik overtook a car which led to a 20s penalty for those two drivers. Right after the safety car period, Avik produced a hammering performance to chase down Aditya Pawar to finish the race in fourth position after third place holder Aditya. Only +0.176s was the difference between third and fourth. Despite getting several bumps from the fellow competitors Avik held on to fourth place and challenged the third spot runner. Affan, meanwhile, did not finish the first race and ended 14th in the second to gather 14 points. In the opening race, Affan nudged Dhruv Mohite from behind at a chicane, which caused a major damage in Affan’s car and that forced him to retire. Race two was a tough one for the Bangladeshi racers. Avik did manage a good starting position for race two but due to technical error his launch control didn’t work at the start, yet he managed to stay strong in the midfield of the pack. On the other hand, due to DNF in race one Affan started the race from the last place of the grid. Despite having technical difficulties, and tires grain, Avik managed to seal eighth place and Affan finished at 14th. The second round will be held from Friday to Sunday at the same circuit.A post shared by Auto Rebellion (@autorebellion) on Jul 17, 2017 at 10:29am PDT
