Bangladesh cricket fraternity joins Prime Minister's oath program

Bangladesh Cricket Board has long been commemorating the Victory Day by holding the exhibition match between Shaheed Jewel and Shaheed Mushtaque XIs every year.

Thursday's Victory Day celebration of cricket's governing body in the country however, took on added significance as the cricket family joined the Prime Minister's oath program from Mirpur's Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina administered the oath to the nation as part of the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's birth centenary and the Golden Jubilee of Bangladesh's independence.

Alongside the players of the two sides - Shaheed Jewel and Shaheed Mushtaque XIs - mostly comprising former cricketers, Bangladesh T20I captain Mahmudullah, BCB president Nazmul Hasan, members of the Bangladesh women's team, U-19 side and wheelchair cricket team, board directors and officials and others were also present during the oath program.

People from all walks of society across the country joined the oath at 4:30pm.
