Dhaka Twelve win inaugural Corporate Women’s Kabaddi

Dhaka Twelve emerged as the champions of the first ever Corporate Women's Kabaddi League, beating Techno Media 23-22 in a nail-biting final at National Kabaddi Stadium Tuesday.

The fiercely-contested final saw the scoreline locked at 22-22 in the final minute when Techno Media raider Shoma started her move.

When she was returning to her court, Dhaka Twelve skipper Rekha Aktari pursued Shoma and touched an opponent before returning to her court.

Within seconds, Dhaka Twelve players were dancing to the tune of the champions.

Techno Media however, staged a brilliant comeback in the second half as they were trailing 10-1 at one phase of the match. 

Deputy Leader of the Parliamant Matia Chowdhury distributed the prizes as the chief guest.

The president of Bangladesh Kabaddi Federation and IGP of Bangladesh Police, Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun presided over the program.

Additional IG of Police and general secretary of the federation, Habibur Rahman and the newly appointed secretary of sports Mohiuddin Ahmed, joint secretary of kabaddi federation and DIG (development) Gazi Mozammel Haque was also present on the occasion.

Smriti Akter of Dhaka Twelve was adjudged the best player of the meet.

Narsingdi Legends finished third in the six-team meet.
