Bangladeshi archer Diya Siddiqui is all set to take part in the Tokyo Olympics as the teenager got wildcard entry from the organizers, confirmed Bangladesh Olympic Association Monday.
Diya is currently taking part in the World Archery stage three in France.
The girl from Nilphamari stunned the country when she reached the final of the mixed event with Mohammad Ruman Shana at the World Archery stage two in Lausanne last month, and had high hopes to do well in France.
However, she failed to live upto expectations as she was eliminated from stage three Monday, despite making a good start.
But the good news of getting the wildcard will come as a solace for the promising archer.
Ruman has already earned direct qualification in the Olympics, thanks to his last year’s medal-winning performance at the world level.
Now, they will focus to do well in the biggest stage of the game.
