The residential training camp of the Bangladesh Swimming Federation is postponed until the end of the month in line with the government’s direction to suspend all sports activities to tackle coronavirus outbreak.
“There were 42 swimmers in the training camp which was postponed on Tuesday until March 31. We will take further decision according to the situation.” said Lt. Commander Bodruddoza, who was appointed swimming camp commander two months ago.
MB Saif, the general secretary of the swimming federation, informed that the main pool of the Syed Nazrul Islam National Swimming Complex is also closed. The federation is uncertain if they could host an international event in July.
“Bangabandhu International age-group Swimming Championship is scheduled to be held in the first week of July but if the situation doesn’t get better we may have to postpone the tournament.” said Saif.
