Munir resigns as cycling federation president

Shafiullah Al Munir has resigned from the post as the president of Bangladesh Cycling Federation yesterday. Munir sent the resignation letter to Youth and Sports Minister, National Sports Council and Bangladesh Olympic Association citing physical illness.

The Cycling federation has been running by ad-hoc committee for more than two years now during when Munir was appointed president by the Ministry in May, 2018, replacing Mizanur Rahman Manu.

Munir officially reasoned illness behind his resignation but there may be other reasons, as he said, “I wanted to work together with everyone but couldn’t do it the way I wanted. Besides, my physical condition is not also good, so I decided to resign.”
