Bangabandhu Inter-University Sports set to begin on March 1

The second edition of the Inter-University Sports Championship under the name of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman is all set to be held with bigger scale than the last year with the participation of more than 100 private and public universities across the country from March 1.

The torch rally of the mega event started from the Russell Square in front of Dhanmondi 32 on Wednesday where it was informed that around 5,000 students are going to participate in 12 sports during one and half month long meet scheduled to be concluded on April 18.

During the maiden edition last year, 2,265 students from 65 universities participated in 10 disciplines — football, cricket, swimming, athletics, table tennis, basketball, volleyball, handball, cycling and badminton. Kabaddi and chess are two more sports included this time.
