The fourth edition of the Walton National Handball Championship, organized by Bangladesh Handball Federation, got underway Thursday at Shaheed Captain M Mansur Ali National Stadium.
In the opening match, Jamalpur District Sports Association beat Gopalganj district 21-16.
In the other games of the opening day, Kushtia thrashed Narayanganj 25-3 and Chapainawabganj defeated Bagerhat 37-27.
BHF general secretary Asaduzzaman Kohinoor and tournament committee secretary Mohammad Selim Mia Babu were present among others during the opening ceremony.
