South Asian Club Table Tennis begins Saturday

With the participation of six clubs from as many countries, the first edition of the Golam Mostafa Memorial South Asian Club Table Tennis Championship 2018 gets underway at MA Aziz Stadium Gymnasium in Chittagong Saturday. All the six participating clubs - Pallalick Group (Bangladesh), Bengal Group (India), Huaie Club (Nepal), Southern Club (Sri Lanka), Thimphu Club (Bhutan) and Maldovian Club (Maldives) - arrived in the port city Friday.

Bangladesh Table Tennis Federation general secretary Khandokar Hasan Munir Sumon said at a press conference Friday that the home side would fight for the championship and try to deliver good results for the country. The three-day event will feature a total of 15 matches. The event will be organised by Advocate Golam Mostafa Memorial Trust, and supported by the BTTF and Chittagong District Sports Association.
