South Asian Women's Handball: Bangladesh thump Afghanistan 35-9

Bangladesh women's team reached the final of the South Asian Women's Handball Championship 2018 after handing Afghanistan a thrashing defeat of 35-9 in Lucknow, India Monday. Bangladesh dominated the game from the very beginning and led the opening half by a margin of 17-4. Shumi, who scored six goals in the last match against Bhutan, continued her fine form by netting highest nine goals, while Rubina notched eight.

Dalia scored four while Shirina, Alpana and Shilpi added three each. Bangladesh however, went on to lose their third game match of the tournament when they conceded a hard-fought 17-26 defeat against Nepal, after trailing 6-12 in the first half. Bangladesh earlier defeated Bhutan 44-3 in their opening game Sunday at the same venue.
