Bangladesh finished seventh in the Asian Games men's hockey competition after beating Thailand 3-0 in the 5th-8th classification match at Gifu Prefectural Green Stadium in Japan Saturday.
Roman Sarker gave Peter Gerhard's side an early lead in the third minute, with Bangladesh carrying a 1-0 advantage into the second quarter.
Bangladesh continued to dominate and doubled their lead in the 27th minute when Amirul Islam converted a penalty corner.
Ashraful Islam sealed the victory in the 53rd minute, converting a penalty stroke to make it 3-0.
Thailand failed to find a response as Bangladesh held on for a comfortable victory to conclude their campaign in seventh place.
