Bangladesh qualify for Hockey Junior World Cup for first time 

Bangladesh made it to the Men's FIH Hockey Junior World Cup 2025 after thrashing Thailand 7-2 in the Junior Asia Cup 2024 in Muscat, Oman Tuesday. 

This is the first time that Bangladesh have progressed to the final round of the World Cup at any level, stated a press release from the Bangladesh Hockey Federation. 

The Asia Cup is also considered as qualifiers for the World Cup.

Seven top teams from Junior Asia Cup advance to the Junior World Cup.

Bangladesh secured a place in the top six with the massive victory over Thailand. 

Mohammad Joy and Mohammad Abdullah scored two goals each while Amirul Islam, Mohammad Hasan and Mohammad Khan added one apiece to seal victory as well as a place in the fifth-sixth deciding match. 

Earlier, Bangladesh finished third in the group round following win over Oman (3-1) and draws against China (1-1) and Malaysia (2-2).
