Al Arafah title sponsor of Junior Asia Cup Hockey

Al Arafah Islami Bank Limited became the title sponsor of the forthcoming Bangabandhu Men’s Junior Asia Cup 2020, scheduled for June 4-14 in Dhaka, as the logo unveiling and contract signing ceremony was held in the capital on Sunday.

A MOU signing between the Bangladesh Hockey Federation and Asian Hockey Federation in the presence of AHF’s CEO Tayeb Ikram was held before the contract signed with the title sponsor in the presence of Managing Director of AAIBL, Farman R Chowdhury.

“We are privileged to host the Bangbandhu Al Arafah Islami Bank Junior Asia Cup,” said BHF president Air Chief Marshal Masihuzzaman Serniabat. “We are also taking extra care for our junior team by keeping them in the long-term training. We hope our junior team will turn our dream into the reality by qualifying for the next Junior World Cup.”

A total 10 countries from Asia will take part in the meet. The teams are- India, Japan, Pakistan, Malaysia, Uzbekistan, Chinese Taipei, South Korea, Oman, China and Bangladesh- and top four of them will qualify for the next year’s Junior World Cup including hosts India.

Meanwhile, Dhaka will also host the Asian Champions Trophy in November with Hero Motocorp expected to be the title sponsor.
