Experienced Indian coach Ajay Kumar Bansal has been appointed as a coaching consultant by the Bangladesh Hockey Federation.
Bansal, who will arrive in Dhaka Thursday night, will first work with the Bangladesh U-21 women’s team in the Junior AHF Cup in Singapore, scheduled to be held from September 9-15.
Bansal will also be a part of the preliminary camp next year in Dhaka for the Junior Men’s Asia Cup.

The 60-year old, recipient of the Dronacharya Award, rewarded to sports coaches in India, previously worked with the Indian men’s and women’s team.
BHF general secretary AKM Mominul Haque Sayeed said, “Not only India, Ajay Kumar Bansal is one of the best coaches in the sub-continent. We have a long friendship with him. His main task will be to prepare his charges for Singapore. Although he is supposed to work for 15 days, we are trying to extend his tenure, so that he can also give time to the U-21 men’s team.
After the Eid-ul-Adha vacation, the women’s team will report Thursday at the hockey federation premises, while the preliminary camp of the U-21 men’s side will begin on August 18.
