Bangladeshi star golfer Siddikur Rahman posted an equal-par 72 in windy conditions to finish the first round of the Mercuries Taiwan Masters in joint 7th position yesterday. Siddikur carded two birdies and the same number of bogies. The 29 year old, who is set to become the first Bangladeshi to participate in the ISPS HANDA World Cup in November, will start the second round grouped with Finnish Kalle Samooja and Taiwanese Sung Mao-Chang at 12:15pm local time today. Australia’s Scott Hend led the table with a three-under-par 69 at the $600,000 showpiece event. Sam Cyr of the United States and Finland’s Kalle Samooja, who were among the early pace setters in the early part of the day, shared second place with a score of 70, along with Australian rookie David Lutterus.
