International Friendship Golf ends in Thailand

Players from 11 countries represented by nine sitting Ambassadors and High Commissioners participated in the first ever International Friendship Golf Tournament, organised by Tiger Golf Club Bangladesh, at Alpine Golf Resort in Bangkok, Thailand Saturday. Following the Double Peoria system of scoring, Wichan Tabtimsri from Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Thailand was adjudged the winner, while Hafiz from Bangladesh finished as the runners-up. Among the ladies, Luna Hafiz won the tournament with the best score. Announcing the winners of the tournament, the president of Tiger Golf Club Dhaka, H.E. Tran Van Khoa, Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Bangladesh praised the vice president, Brigadier General Manzur Qader and Syed Rahman of Novo Cargo for leading this initiative and ensuring an exciting tournament for over 40 golfers. Organised in association with Royal Thai Embassy and Tourism Authority of Thailand, this initiative was supported by Kurmitola Golf Club where more than 30 golfers from Bangladesh consisting of the members of Tiger Golf Club (diplomats, expats, elite from government and business community of Bangladesh) and the local Thai players participated to celebrate the spirit of golf and friendship between multiple countries.
