Aminur Rahman Sajib, Atikur Rahman Fahad and Rubel Mia were recalled again as a total of 26 players were called up for the national team camp for the upcoming Bangabandhu Gold Cup, scheduled for the middle of next month.
The camp will get underway this Thursday at the Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishthan (BKSP) in Savar under the guidance of interim head coach Saiful Bari Titu.
Abahani forward Sajib, juvenile defender Fahad and Sheikh Jamal DC winger Rubel were added to the previous squad of 23 men named for the Fifa international friendly against Japan Under-21 held on December 18 this year.
The 26-man squad might be re-shuffled once new head coach – most likely to be Dutchman Lodewijk de Kruif – takes over the charge of the national side in the first week of next month.
Following the just-concluded international friendly between South Korean club Busan IPark and Sheikh Jamal DC, current coach Titu was anything but happy with the fitness of a few national players.
“Some senior players have fitness issues because of being out of match-practice for a while.
“They need improvement to get back their fitness. But, most of the players from Sheikh Jamal seems to be in good shape as they played against Busan IPark recently,” said Titu yesterday.
