Japan proposes to send U21s instead of Olympic team

Japan Football Association (JFA) has put forward a proposal of sending their national Under-21 side instead of the Olympic team to play a friendly match against Bangladesh in December next month.

The JFA sent a four-day schedule to the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) and informed that they want to play on December 18.

Due to Victory Day events in the middle of December, the BFF wants to host the friendly match after December 20.

The JFA, however, had no other option but to cancel the lone friendly as their Olympic team, comprising several national players, are scheduled to play a practice match away to Thailand on December 14 which will be followed by the ongoing Japanese League as well.
