Saff U-15 Championship: Bangladesh into semis after Bhutan beat Sri Lanka

Bangladesh reached the semi-finals of the inaugural Saff U-15 Championship with a game in hand after Bhutan defeated Sri Lanka 6-0 in the group’s other match in Kathmandu, Nepal on Sunday. The junior boys in red and green earlier outplayed Sri Lanka 4-0 in the first match of the tournament on Thursday. Both Bangladesh and Bhutan swept into the last four from Group A with one win from as many match.

Bangladesh will take on Bhutan in the last group match on Tuesday which will decide the group champion. Bangladesh must win the match to top the group while a draw would be enough for Bhutan to go through as group champion, courtesy superior goal difference. India or Nepal are the probable opponents who Bangladesh may face in the last four.
