Salahuddin defends Maruf’s one-year ban

Bangladesh Football Federation chief Kazi Salahuddin defended his federation’s decision of imposing a year-long ban on coach Maruful Haque.

While talking at his office yesterday, Salahuddin said no coach in the world has the right to demand the resignation of the football federation president over an issue like the cancellation of a premier league match. “It was an unavoidable circumstance and the issue was connected with a programme of the Prime Minister. The federation duly informed the club. However, Maruf still brought his team to the ground as his opponents remained absent. He demanded the resignation of the federation president and accused the federation of biasness. I think the decision is justified,” said the BFF president.
