Argentine midfielder Ángel di María is ruled out of the world cup due to injury at his right thigh.
One of the most Important members of the Argentine Squad picked up his injury during the Quarter final clash with Belgium on Saturday, The Guardian Reports.
Di María suffered the tear when mustering a shot, which was blocked by Vincent Kompany, with his team leading 1-0 in Brasilia. He received treatment on the pitch and attempted to play on, but crumpled back to the turf moments later before hobbling away in tears to be replaced by Enzo Pére.
An official announcement is expected on Sunday confirming the extent of Di Maria’s injury, however Argentine media and some sources close to the team confirmed that the 26- year -old will miss the rest of the tournament.
