Muktijoddha edge Rahmatganj in BPL thriller

Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra pipped Rahmatganj Muslim Friends Society in what turned out to be nail-biting encounter in the Bangladesh Premier Football League 2016-17 season at Bangabandhu National Stadium on Friday. Ismael Bangoura gave Rahmatganj the lead in the 15th minute of the game but Amzad Ali brought parity just seven minutes later. Muktijoddha then went ahead in the 27th minute through Mohamed Zaki, who bagged his second in the injury time of the first half as the All Reds took a 3-1 lead. Bangoura reduced the arrears in the 63rd minute but it was as good as it got for Rahmatganj, who eventually conceded defeat.

Meanwhile in the other game of the day at the same venue, Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra and Brothers Union played out a goalless draw.
