BFF focuses on final round

The Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) wants to concentrate fully on the preparation of the U16 girls with year-long training camp and practice matches against strong opponents ahead of the final round of AFC Under-16 Women's Championship 2017 in Thailand.
None of the players in the squad will have to take part in the national women's football league or any other regional or national tournament before the final round in September next year, informed BFF women's wing committee chairman Mahfuza Akter Kiron on Tuesday.
Bangladesh U16 national women's football team have been felicitated again for their recent success as another corporate house Walton Group gave a reception to the young girls at the BFF House on Tuesday noon where Kiron gave a hint for their future plan with the girls.
“We want to give hundred percent concentrations on the final round of the tournament [AFC U-16 Women's Championship] in Thailand next year. They players will not play any league matches during this time,” said Kiron. She continued, “There will be non-stop training in the next three months and during that time we will not play any friendly matches. We have been talking to other countries to arrange practice matches. Countries like Japan, Thailand, China and Korea are in the pipeline in our plan.”
Meanwhile, as promised before, Walton handed over an amount of Tk520000 to share among the members of the winning team including 23 players, head coach Golam Rabbani Choton and assistant coaches - Mahbubur Rahman Litu and Mahmuda Akter Ananya.
Every player received Tk20000 each as reward for their outstanding display in the recently concluded AFC U-16 Women’s Championship 2017 Qualifiers from where they qualified for the final round winning all their five Group C matches.
“Such kinds of reception inspire us and encourage to do better in future. We will continue our job and make ourselves fully prepared for the final round.” said head coach Choton.
Meanwhile on Monday, Gemcon Group, Saif Global Sports Limited and Caldwell Development Limited jointly provided an amount of Tk3.9m to the 26 members of the team. Each corporate group splashed Tk50,000 to each member of the U-16 including the coaches.
Another corporate house, SS Solution, which is owned by Kazi Sarazin, daughter of BFF president Kazi Salahuddin, also announced that they would provide Tk10,000 every month to each member of the squad for the next one year till the final round of the AFC U-16 Women’s Championship, scheduled to be held in Bangkok, Thailand in September.
