The Congress of South Asian Football Federation will be held today at the Ruposhi Bangla Hotel. The congress will be presided over by the president of the organization Kazi Salahuddin.
There will also be a few changes in the executive committee of the SAFF as the vice-president posts will be extended from two to three.
As no one from the other eight SAFF countries had yet expressed interest in seeking the president’s post, Kazi Salahuddin, also the chief of the BFF, was likely to retain post.
However, if a contender appears, the eight countries will vote. Salahuddin was elected SAFF chief unopposed in 2009.
Ganesh Thapa, Makhdoom Syed Faisal Hayat and W Ranjit Rodrigo the presidents of Nepal , Pakistan and Sri Lanka football federations will be present among the dignitaries. All the dignitaries arrived at Dhaka on Tuesday.
Ahmed Yar Khan Lodhi, general secretary, PFF, Sayed Ali Reza Aghazada Sadat. general secretary, Afghanistan FF, Ugyen Wangchhuk general secretary Bhutan FF, Subrata Dutta, vice president , All India FF Hardev Jadeja, treasurer, All India FF, Ibrahim Waheed and Nooh Ali, Ex-Co Members , Maldives FF, Mani Kunwar and Shivanee Thapa , officials of Nepal FF, J.M. Jauzi, treasurer, Sri Lanka FF, Upali PathiranaHewage, general secretary Sri Lanka FF, Tabith Awal vice president Bangladesh FF and Md Abu Nayeem Shohag, general Secretary Bangladesh FF are the delegates of the Congress. Alberto Agostinho De Jesus Colaco the General Secretary, SAFF and World Sports Group officials Harish Krishnamachar and Deepak Singh will also be present.
