Nitol-Tata set to return to football

Nitol-Tata is likely to return to the Bangladesh football arena as the sponsors of the Bangladesh Premier League football.

Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF), struggling to find a sponsor for the top flight football league of the country, may find the solace within the next week. BFF senior vice-president and the chairman of the Professional League Committee Abdus Salam Murshedy looked confident about inking the deal. “They have happily stepped up to be tagged again with the football, we hope we will reach the final stage of an agreement within a few days,” said Murshedy.

Nitol-Tata sponsored the now defunct National Football League in from 2001-2005. It was learnt the BFF is expecting a purse of Tk10m for the league. Among the last six editions of the BPL Grameenphone sponsored the league three times, Citycell sponsored twice while the inaugural edition was remained sponsor less. The ongoing seventh edition of the league has no sponsors as well.
