BFF clarifies U16's transportation issue

Bangladesh Football Federation has said that they are committed to looking after the safety and security of all footballers under their purview. The statement was released last evening after there were media reports of nine members of the Bangladesh U16 women's team going to their hometowns in local bus without BFF's chaperone. BFF clarified that they had indeed offered the players, all from Mymensingh, a more comfortable journey but they preferred returning like they usually do. “It came to the attention of BFF that there are some misunderstanding going around regarding journey of a section of Bangladesh U16 Women's National Football Team players for upcoming Eid-Ul-Azha vacation to their homes,” read the statement. “BFF wants to clear everyone concerned that the girls were offered air conditioned microbus, but they refused since they are not comfortable with that. Then BFF arranged good-quality bus for them, however, they ultimately demanded direct local bus to reach their neighborhood for their ease and BFF arranged so considering the hassle they would have face to change carriers during journey,” it added. The statement said that the players were transported to the bus stand with BFF staff accompanying them. “It is worth mentioning that every player was transported today early morning from BFF House to the bus station with their bag and baggage under BFF arrangement and BFF staffs informed respective parents/guardians/teachers regarding their journey along with an indication of arrival time to receive them. “Once again we would like to confirm that all the women players in the meantime have reached home and staying with their families. We honor and appreciate the thoughts, concerns and advices we already have received from our football lovers for our women fighters,” it said.
