Walton, the leading electronics brand of the country, stepped up to sponsor the 28th edition of Federation Cup, the curtain raiser tournament of the football season at the BFF House yesterday.
The 12 team Federation Cup is scheduled to kick-off from December 20 but the BFF may change the date depending on the political situation.
As per the deal, Walton will provide a purse of Tk2m as the title sponsors. At the official press conference, BFF senior vice president Abdus Salam Murshedy thanked Walton for stepping up to sponsor the meet. "We must admit that Walton has provided the assistance in a crucial time, we are thankful to them," said Murshedy.
AFM Iqbal bin Anwar Dawn, the additional director of Walton, said they are here for a sustainable relationship. "We have sponsored the Women's Corporate Football earlier, now we have been tagged with another big tournament. We hope to continue the relationship with football," said Dawn.
Apart from the sponsorship money, Walton will also present a Fusion 110 CC motorcycle to the man of the tournament and there will be five gift hampers consisting of various home appliances every day that will be decided by a raffle draw. The best players of the quarterfinals, semifinals and the final will also receive gifts from the sponsors. BFF general secretary Abu Naeem Shohag and Walton Brand Ambassador Zobera Rahman Linu were also present on the occasion.
