The FIFA Asean Cup is a FIFA-sanctioned international football competition for Southeast Asian men's national teams and invited guest nations.
The tournament will feature a two-division format, with Indonesia hosting the Premier Division and Hong Kong hosting the Challenge Division.
Bangladesh have been included in the Premier Division.
Eight teams, divided into two groups, will compete in the tournament.
According to BFF executive committee member Amirul Islam Babu, Bangladesh have been drawn in Group A alongside hosts Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore. Group B consists of Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines and Pakistan.
All Premier Division matches will be played in Jakarta, Indonesia.
"We received confirmation from FIFA yesterday that we are going to play in the Asean Cup," Babu told reporters on Saturday.
The tournament will be held during the FIFA international window from September 24 to October 4.
Babu also said preparations for the competition would begin soon.
"The squad will be announced very soon according to the coach's plans and recommendations," he added.
