Vladimir Petkovic has named his 26-man squad for the FIFA World Cup 2026, where Algeria will take on holders Argentina, Austria and Jordan in Group J.
Captain Riyad Mahrez and record appearance-maker Aissa Mandi are among the the team's most experienced squad members, alongside midfielder Nabil Bentaleb, who returns after an injury-disrupted international career.
Goalkeeper Luca Zidane, son of 1998 World Cup winner Zinedine Zidane, also makes the grade despite suffering a broken chin and jaw while playing for Granada in April. The 28-year-old has won six caps since debuting for Les Fennecs last October, with Oussama Benbot and Melvin Mastil completing the goalkeeping trio.
In another boost for Petkovic, attacking duo Houssem Aouar and Amine Gouiri are back in the fold after missing the Africa Cup of Nations through injury.
Algeria, who are playing at their first World Cup since losing in the Round of 16 to eventual winners Germany at Brazil 2014, will play warm-up games against the Netherlands (3 June) and Bolivia (10 June), before beginning their Group J campaign against Argentina in Kansas City on 16 June.
