Morsalin scores and sees red card in Abahani win as Kings held

Sheikh Morsalin netted a goal before being sent off during Abahani’s 3-1 win over Police in the Bangladesh Football League in Gazipur on Friday.

Emeka Ogbugh put the Sky Blues ahead in the 33rd minute. MS Bablu equalised in first-half added time. Al Amin and Morsalin scored in the 58th and 78th minutes respectively to send Abahani second in the table.

Morsalin received his second yellow card in the 86th minute. Police’s Sharif Uddin Nirob also saw a red card in the 70th minute after two bookings.

Elsewhere, leaders Bashundhara Kings played out a 1-1 draw with Rahmatganj in Munshiganj. Both sides saw a red card each in the match, including Kings’ Bishwanath Ghosh and Rahmatganj’s Abhishek Limbo.

The day saw another red card during Fortis’ goalless draw against Arambagh. Pa Omar Babu received a direct red card, reducing Fortis to 10 men.

Meanwhile, in the day’s other match, holders Mohammedan thrashed Fakirerpool 3-0 after goals from Joy Ahmed, Jewel Mia and Rafael Tudu.
